Who Is Jesus To Me?

Jesus - The Son
April 3, 2021
Jesus is so many things to so many people. No matter the depth of His mystery, Jesus will always be the perfect prayer.

Who is Jesus to me?

He is my perfect prayer.

Jesus is so many things to so many people, me included.

It is hard to describe how my emotions overwhelm me when I think of him and how much I love him. How I ache with pain every time I think of his torture and love shown on the cross.  He is so creative.  He was there in the beginning. He is a bridge maker. He is my saviour. He is my provider. He is my fierce protector.

But one thing that I will never fully grasp is the power of his name. This is one of the greatest mysteries to me. There is so much power, depth, and love in the mention, the whisper, of his name.  I use his name as a simple one name prayer whispered in desperation when no words fill my thoughts and all I can utter is Jesus,…Jesus.  He is my perfect prayer.

Sometimes when people pray they get all caught up in words that don’t need to be spoken. They can speak too many words thinking that the more words the more effective the prayer.

In Hebrews 7:25, it speaks ofJesus’ intercession for those who draw near to him.  His prayers for us are constant, and they are perfect.  Sometimes, all we need to do is go to our greatest intercessor and just leave it with Him.  He knows the perfect thing to say. He knows the perfect answer.

I hope that you can adopt this idea of his wonderful name becoming your greatest prayer - your perfect prayer.  You don’t need fancy words to fill your prayers. You just need to utter his name in humility and love, and Jesus will hear you and answer your prayers - perfectly.
